On June 25, 2024, at 2:40 am, a director of the Agriculture Department collapsed in the lobby of the Chung Hsing Building, briefly losing breath and pulse, where emergency medical assistance with an AED was provided. With recent hot weather alerts issued by the meteorological bureau warning of heat-related incidents, there has been an increase in heatstroke cases. A sudden incident also occurred at the Legislative Yuan when the director of the Aquaculture Research Institute of the Agricultural Department collapsed while at the Chung Hsing Building, prompting emergency rescue efforts and transport to Taipei's National Taiwan University Hospital. The cause of the incident remains under investigation. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has reported that 460 people sought medical treatment due to heat-related illnesses as of June 24. The hot weather persists today, adding concerns over temperature-related health risks.
