There are increasing incidents of Taiwanese being detained and investigated upon entering Mainland China due to the impact of the CCP's National Security Law and Anti-Spy Law. In response to China's 22 measures against Taiwan independence, the Mainland Affairs Council is rumored to raise the travel alert level for Mainland trips and potentially skip three levels straight to an orange alert, advising to 'avoid non-essential travel'. The travel industry is concerned as cross-strait tensions rise, with fears of diminishing chances of normal exchanges and more restrictions on travel.
