In a beauty store in Miaodong Commercial District, Fengyuan, Taichung, consumer disputes have been escalating, prompting the Taichung City Government to amend the Consumer Protection Law's autonomous regulations. They plan to physically post consumer warnings to alert customers of problematic businesses. Failure to improve within a set period could result in a fine of up to 100,000 New Taiwan Dollars, all aimed at protecting consumers' interests. The store in question has been accused of bypassing the 7-day cooling-off period by swiftly removing product packaging after luring customers in with free samples, leading many young individuals, including a 20-year-old who accumulated over 100,000 NT in debts, to suffer. The authorities are determined to prevent further consumer exploitation by implementing these measures.
