On June 11, 2024, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cautioned against selling drugs online, especially as the prevalence of online shopping has increased. With 1478 cases of illegal online drug sales last year, the FDA emphasized that only 'Category B over-the-counter drugs' are approved for online sales, and reselling drugs online can result in fines ranging from NT$30,000 to NT$2 million. The FDA stressed the risks of buying from illegal websites, the difficulty in taking down foreign illegal sites, and the importance of consulting professionals for medication needs to avoid penalties and health hazards.
