Recently, there has been an increase in online job scams targeting young individuals looking for part-time work during the summer. These scams, advertised on platforms like Facebook, offer low-threshold job opportunities such as homeworking, typing work, and financial commission, luring victims to provide bank account details and passwords or tricking them into making payments. Two specific cases in central Taiwan involved a female college student who fell victim to a work-from-home scam and a male surnamed Wu who was scammed in a virtual currency scheme. Both individuals suffered significant financial losses before realizing they had been deceived.
