A 60-year-old woman experienced increasing symptoms of itchiness, scaling skin, and even altered consciousness, low blood pressure, and fever which were diagnosed as a rare type of scabies called 'Norwegian scabies,' leading to secondary infections. Scabies is highly contagious and can lead to skin ulcers and septicemia with just 15 minutes of contact. If skin is excessively itchy, develops blisters, and does not heal, prompt medical attention is required. Norwegian scabies is difficult to treat and typically affects elderly individuals with poor immune systems.
