On June 13, 2024, a fraud ring involving a Chinese woman deceived two men into becoming drivers. The victims, after joining an investment group through a stock market message from a fake financial advisor, lost a total of NT$5.6 million within two months. The Coastal Mountain Police Bureau's Wensheng Precinct, upon receiving the report from a victim named Chen, identified the suspects through surveillance footage and collaborated with the Taiwan New Taipei District Prosecutors Office to apprehend four suspects in various locations. The suspects confessed that they were enticed by a Mainland Chinese woman they met on a dating app and agreed to help with cash withdrawals in exchange for a relationship, subsequently realizing they were being scammed. This case exemplifies the dangers of falling for scams and emphasizes the need for vigilance among the public to prevent being swindled.
