On June 30, 2024, Central News Network reported that in Puli and Caotun Townships in Nantou County, Taiwan, 10 snakes including banded kraits and Burmese pythons were spotted. The Nantou County Fire Department has handled 1,093 snake-catching cases so far in the year, emphasizing that maintaining the environment clean is the best way to prevent snakes. Due to recent hot weather, snakes have been appearing frequently in the area. The Fire Department highlights the importance of keeping surroundings clean and bright to deter snakes from entering homes. If encountering snakes, people are advised to observe calmly, maintain distance, and contact authorities if needed.
