As Taiwan experiences scorching temperatures, with some areas reaching up to 38 degrees Celsius, businesses are introducing new ice desserts to attract customers seeking relief from the heat. Nutritionists estimate that treats like durian ice cream and egg tart-flavored ice cream exceed 200 calories each, while shaved ice with toppings like pearls and honey red beans can reach close to 900 calories. It is advised to be mindful of calorie intake, especially as the hot weather is expected to persist for another week, with temperatures soaring up to 36-38 degrees Celsius nationwide.
