The National Weather Service warns of high temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius or higher around the Northeast and Great Lakes region, impacting states like New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. This heatwave is extending to the East Coast, threatening cities like New York City, Washington D.C., Boston, and even Detroit with its hottest moment in nearly 20 years. The impact of climate change has made 2023 one of the hottest years on record and the year with the most heatwave attacks in almost a century for the US, with over 100 cities reporting record high temperatures.
