Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, has invested in AI chipmaker Tenstorrent, joining forces with Samsung in a $700 million funding round that values the startup at approximately $2.6 billion. Tenstorrent aims to challenge Nvidia's dominance in the AI chip market by creating more cost-effective solutions based on open-source technology, while also developing an alternative processor using the RISC-V standard. The company plans to enhance its engineering capabilities and production efforts, even as it competes against Nvidia's extensive proprietary offerings.
