BHP Sells Brazilian Copper Assets to CoreX for Up to $465 Million

BHP has announced the sale of its copper assets in Brazil, known as the Carajas assets, to CoreX Holding for up to $465 million, with the transaction expected to complete in early 2026. Following a strategic review, BHP determined that the assets would thrive under new ownership. The deal includes an initial payment of $240 million, with further contingent payments based on production targets starting as early as 2027.
