In Texas, U.S., two cyclists were hit and thrown by a car while riding on a route near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. One cyclist was run over by the same vehicle, but thanks to bystanders, the intoxicated driver was stopped and later arrested. The driver, identified as Benjamin Hylander, was found with six empty beer bottles in his car and confessed to driving under the influence. Fortunately, both cyclists, including 69-year-old Tom Geppert, suffered only minor injuries. Hylander faces charges of DUI and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
