An 83-year-old woman from South Carolina was gored by a bison in Yellowstone National Park, sustaining serious injuries. The incident occurred near the Storm Point Trail at Yellowstone Lake. The woman was airlifted to a medical center, and her condition remains unknown. Yellowstone reminds visitors to keep a safe distance from wild animals, emphasizing that bison, while not usually aggressive, will defend themselves when threatened. This is not the first bison attack in the park; recent incidents include an Idaho man charged with approaching wildlife and a 47-year-old woman injured by a bison in 2021. Bison are the largest mammals in North America and can weigh up to 2,000 pounds.
