A bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) has been launched on Australia's main stock market for the first time, allowing investors to access the cryptocurrency market. The VanEck Bitcoin ETF debuted on the Australian Securities Exchange with around A$990,000 in assets, marking the result of over three years of negotiations. Unlike owning bitcoin directly, the fund will invest in the U.S.-listed VanEck Bitcoin Trust, with growing interest in cryptocurrency ETFs globally following regulatory approvals in the U.S. and Hong Kong.
