In Missouri, United States, the invasive 'northern snakehead' fish, also known as 'channa argus,' originating from Asia, has reappeared. Due to its threat to the local ecosystem, the Missouri Department of Conservation has advised expedited killing upon capture. The snakehead fish resembles a snake with scales, can survive in oxygen-deprived water, and even on land, moving like a snake. It preys on fish, crustaceans, frogs, small reptiles, birds, and mammals, posing a significant threat to the U.S. environment. Authorities recommend decapitation or sealing in plastic bags as a precaution against its rapid reproduction and adaptability to various environments.
