On June 17, 2024, the Food and Drug Administration announced that two batches of 'Black Pepper Grains' imported from Malaysia, one batch of 'Fresh Celery' imported from Vietnam, and one batch of 'Salted Bamboo Shoots' imported from China were found to be non-compliant with regulations due to contamination. The products, totaling 15 tons, will be either returned or destroyed. Additionally, other non-compliant food items detected at the border this week include Japanese mandarins, Burmese green beans, and more, with the 'Black Pepper Grains' from Malaysia testing positive for pesticide residue Cyazofamid, exceeding the allowable limit.
