According to Bloomberg News, there have been calls for replacing President Biden within the Democratic Party following his poor performance during a debate with former President Trump. Although Biden is currently the 'presumptive nominee,' the Democratic Party is considering nominating him early on July 21 during a national committee meeting to calm internal unrest. This move aims to eliminate speculation about alternative candidates and is prompted by changes in Ohio certification dates. Potential replacements mentioned include Governors Whitmer, Newsom, Shapiro, Pritzker, and Beshear. Vice President Harris is being overlooked due to her underwhelming performance, with Biden's team believing she cannot attract moderate swing voters effectively. Harris' support rate has improved since January, but Biden is perceived as better equipped to secure swing states crucial for electoral success.
