Blue Camp Plans to Relax Bartel Scale, Greens Worry about Squeezing Critical Patients

Reported about 1 year ago

A proposal by Kuomintang lawmakers aims to relax the Bartel scale for elderly caregivers, allowing those aged 80 or older, or between 70 and 79 with stage II cancer or above, to apply for foreign caregivers without needing to meet the Bartel scale requirements. However, the Democratic Progressive Party questions the lack of supporting measures, which may result in foreign workers choosing easier jobs and squeezing out families with critically ill patients.
