According to the latest poll by Zhongguang and the Public Opinion Research Institute, Taipei Deputy Mayor Li Sichuan topped the poll with 37.26% support for the potential 2026 New Taipei City mayoral candidate, followed by KMT Legislative Yuan Caucus Secretary-General Hong Mengkai with 14%. Former Legislator Guo Zhengliang revealed inside information about the poll, suggesting that the preferred candidate of the current New Taipei City Mayor Hou Youyi, Deputy Mayor Liu Heran, only garnered 5.14% support. Guo also mentioned that Li Sichuan's previous role as Deputy Mayor under Han Kuo-yu has garnered recognition from Han's supporters, which may influence his decision to run for New Taipei City Mayor in the future.
