Nationalist Party legislators, Chen Xuesheng and Chen Yujin proposed amending the 'Offshore Development Act' to allow mainland companies, equipment, and manpower to participate in major construction in offshore areas. However, after the People First Party declared their opposition, the Blue camp suddenly called for a halt and agreed to the Democratic Progressive Party's proposal to 'return the bill to the procedures committee.' The proposal aimed to open bidding to mainland firms, assist in offshore construction, and faced concerns of infiltration by the Mainland Affairs Council.
