In the Legislative Yuan's Internal Administration Committee, there were allegations on July 4, 2024, that staff members were restrained and unable to reach the new meeting location. Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislator Kao Chin-so Mei accused DPP legislators of restraining the committee’s secretary, and Nationalist Party (KMT) legislator Wang Hung-wei supported the claim, stating a report was made to the local police station. Meanwhile, DPP legislator Tsai Yi-yu countered, stressing that there was no restraint involved. The committee was scheduled to review a draft amendment of the 'Public Servants Election and Recall Act,' which led to a clash between the blue and green camps, involving occupation of the committee chairman's podium by DPP members.
