On July 8, during the review of the election law in the Legislative Yuan, the blue camp accused DPP legislator Yellow Chieh of picking the lock and entering the committee room early. New surveillance footage now shows that last week, the DPP caucus had also tried various ways to enter early, with DPP legislator Zhong Jiabin even wearing gloves and using tools to dismantle the window seal in an attempt to break the window. The blue camp found this behavior strange, as the DPP lawmakers seemingly violated the rules by entering forcibly. Prominent moments captured included smoking by Ko Chien-ming and Chuang Ruei-hsiung indoors. Despite explanations from the lawmakers involved, the incident added fuel to the ongoing battle over the election law reform between the blue and green camps in the Legislative Yuan.
