Following the conclusion of the parliamentary reform review, the Presidential Office and Executive Yuan are set to present a constitutional interpretation, triggering Nationalist Party legislator Wu Chung-Hsien to express via Facebook his belief that the parliamentary reform laws do not pose any constitutional issues and align with the constitutional system of Taiwan. Wu mentioned that even if the judges insist on unconstitutionality, it would likely be limited to certain clauses, not the entirety. However, lawyer Lin Chih-Chun criticized Wu's stance. Wu clarified that the potential unconstitutionality of clauses arises mainly if judges face political pressures, emphasizing the importance of judicial trustworthiness and a fair assessment. He also stressed the critical role of Parliament in overseeing the executive branch for a healthy democracy, highlighting the need for proper checks and balances to uphold transparency and justice in Taiwan's political landscape.
