According to SET News on July 4, 2024, Blue legislators demanded Green legislators to release parliamentary staff during a scheduled review of the proposed amendment to the Public Official Election and Recall Act by KMT legislators at the Internal Affairs Committee of the Legislative Yuan. Tensions rose as the DPP occupied the chairman's podium causing the Blue camp's dissatisfaction, leading to continuous criticisms between the two parties. The meeting made no progress, with some Blue legislators even jokingly shouting 'The Thunderbolt Team is Here'. Eventually, the meeting was adjourned, and the Blue legislators continued to protest outside, accusing DPP legislators of controlling the parliamentary staff's freedom.
