China's Kuomintang legislators, including Xu Yuzhen, proposed an amendment to the Recall Law to raise the recall threshold, which will be scheduled for review by the Interior Committee of the Legislative Yuan on July 4. In response, DPP Legislative Caucus Secretary-General Wu Szu-yao stated that the KMT's version increases the difficulty of exercising recall, goes against public opinion, and involves self-interest. The DPP caucus will not support it and will make all efforts to block it. The debate on the recall law is becoming another battlefield for both ruling and opposition parties.
