BMW Convertible Car Catches Fire at Taipei Night Market, Starting Price of New Car Jumps to 2.61 Million

A BMW 4 Series convertible car caught fire at the Tonghua Night Market in Taipei's Da'an District early in the morning. The owner, a 25-year-old man surnamed Liao, reported that white smoke suddenly emerged from the front hood of the car, followed by flames. Liao managed to extinguish the fire with a roadside fire extinguisher before the authorities arrived. Both Liao and his girlfriend were outside the car and unharmed. Spectators at the night market witnessed the incident, with many stopping to observe. The fire department confirmed there was no risk of reignition and allowed Liao to handle the subsequent towing of the vehicle.
