A boarding home in Banqiao was fined heavily by the New Taipei City Animal Protection Office for raising a large number of dogs and cats without completing pet microchip transfer, spaying/neutering, and regular rabies vaccinations. The pet waste odor from the facility affected neighboring residents, leading to multiple complaints. Despite repeated requests for improvement from various authorities, the owner was found to be keeping a total of 81 pets and was fined a total of NT$480,000 for violating animal protection laws and disease prevention regulations. The filthy and cramped environment was so bad that even pet cages had to be stacked. This is not the first time the owner has been fined for improper pet care practices.
