A Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft of Southwest Airlines experienced a rare 'Dutch roll' at 10,000 meters, but safely landed in Oakland due to successful control by the pilot. The incident occurred on May 25 during a flight from Phoenix, Arizona to Oakland, California. Initial investigations suggest a possible malfunction of the standby power unit of the rudder. The 'Dutch roll' condition involves tail swaying and significant wing oscillations, similar to the movement of Dutch figure skaters. All 175 passengers and 6 crew members on board were unharmed. The FAA and NTSB are investigating further to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure passenger and crew safety.
