An Air Europa flight from Madrid to Montevideo experienced strong turbulence, resulting in dozens of injuries and prompting an emergency landing in Brazil. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with 325 passengers onboard diverted to Natal, Brazil, with visible damage to the cabin. Around 40 passengers were hospitalized for minor injuries from the turbulence, with 11 still under observation. Air Europa arranged for another plane to pick up the passengers, while the affected aircraft remained in Natal for inspection.
