Boeing firefighters have ratified a new contract with significant pay raises, bringing an end to a three-week lockout. The agreement covers approximately 125 fire and emergency-service workers in the Seattle area who were locked out when their previous contract expired on May 4. The deal guarantees four hours of overtime pay for each 24-hour shift, resulting in an average annual pay increase of about $21,000, with annual raises of 2% to 3% through 2027. Employees will now reach the top pay scale in 10 years instead of the 14 or 19 years proposed by Boeing. President Biden had previously urged both parties to reach a mutually beneficial deal.
