Boeing has officially notified more than 400 employees from the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) about layoffs as part of a broader plan to reduce its workforce by 10%, totaling approximately 17,000 jobs. These layoffs come after an eight-week strike by its machinists' union and reflect Boeing's ongoing financial struggles, exacerbated by regulatory issues and production slowdowns. Affected employees will remain on payroll until mid-January and will receive severance and career transition support.
