Boeing is addressing an issue with the 737 MAX engine anti-ice system that has delayed certification of the MAX 7 and MAX 10 models due to potential overheating leading to engine failure. Boeing plans to conduct flight testing on the anti-ice fix later in the year, potentially pushing MAX 7 certification to mid-2025. The FAA will review any design Boeing submits, and Southwest Airlines has adjusted delivery expectations. This comes after a safety incident on a MAX 9 and Boeing withdrawing an exemption request for the MAX 7.
