Boeing is expected to announce its strategy for addressing safety and quality concerns.

Reported 4 months ago

Boeing is set to submit a report to the Federal Aviation Administration outlining plans to address safety and quality issues, including overhauling manufacturing processes to prevent systematic quality control problems. The report follows a series of incidents, including a fuselage panel blowout on an Alaska Airlines flight. Boeing's leaders, including outgoing CEO David Calhoun, will discuss the plan with FAA officials, but the report will not be made public immediately as amendments may be requested. Boeing has been implementing steps like stand-downs, increased hiring and training, and more transparency in production, but they acknowledge that full implementation will take years. Stock prices have dropped over 30% in response to these issues.
