Boeing Starliner spacecraft develops helium leaks en route to ISS

Reported 11 months ago

Boeing's Starliner crew capsule, heading to the International Space Station with astronauts on board, has encountered two helium leaks but remains stable and on course for docking, according to NASA. The spacecraft took off from Florida after years of delays and safety concerns. Despite the initial helium leak discovered during a previous launch attempt, subsequent leaks have been managed by closing affected valves. NASA and Boeing are aiming to certify Starliner for regular journeys to the space station, a job currently carried out by SpaceX at a lower cost to US taxpayers.
