Boeing has updated its training for new hires in manufacturing and quality, providing 10 to 14 weeks of foundational skills training before employees move to the production floor, which is longer than before. The company has installed a section of 737 fuselage at its Renton training center for hands-on practice, following an incident with Alaska Airlines in January. Boeing is revamping manufacturing practices amidst investigations and reduced production of its popular 737 MAX 9 jet.
