Boliden AB has reached an agreement to purchase zinc and copper mines from Lundin Mining Corp. located in Portugal and Sweden for up to $1.52 billion. This acquisition, which includes the Neves-Corvo and Zinkgruvan mines, is expected to nearly double Boliden’s zinc output and increase copper production by 43%. The purchase is strategically aligned with Boliden's goal to secure long-term raw material supplies for its smelters amid intensifying competition in the mining industry.
