Reported about 1 year ago

On June 20, 2024, at 3:45 AM, the Environmental Ministry established the 'Green Strategy Office' through task organization to consolidate and coordinate policies related to climate change and clean zero transformation within the ministry and its affiliated agencies. This office aims to expand collaboration with other ministries to promote clean zero and green growth actions, review and improve measures to enhance the government's climate governance capacity. Minister of the Environmental Ministry, Peng Qiming, emphasized the need for cross-ministerial cooperation on various clean zero policies such as green and digital transformation, green finance, green medical promotion, clean zero technology applications, green talent training, climate literacy, and more. The ministry will fully support the National Climate Change Response Committee and implement a more complete organization to effectively achieve clean zero. Peng also highlighted the importance of social communication and professional review in energy policy matters such as the case of the Harmony Power Plant environmental impact assessment, emphasizing the collective effort of an organization towards achieving clean zero rather than solely relying on sustainable departments.
