In response to the impact of the earthquake on Hualien tourism, the Tourism Bureau launched a national travel subsidy program in June to revitalize tourism in Hualien. Minister of Transportation, Lin Meng-yan, mentioned that nearly 48,000 people have applied for travel subsidies so far, and there has been a significant increase in the number of vehicles entering Yilan via the Su'ao Tunnel, now back to the level before the earthquake. In addition to accommodation subsidies, group tour subsidies, discounts for Taiwan Good Travel, and Taiwan Tour Bus have also been implemented to encourage tourism in Hualien.
