According to Yonhap News Agency on June 17, 2024, South Korea will start issuing 'K-culture training visas' to foreigners who wish to participate in training programs related to Korean pop music, choreography, and other cultural fields, as well as considering new work visas to attract more overseas tourists. The move is part of a comprehensive initiative proposed by the South Korean Ministry of Transportation to simplify entry procedures, design diverse tourism projects, and enhance the convenience for foreign visitors. Additional measures include expanding visa issuance, collaborating with local governments, and enhancing infrastructure for entry procedures to improve the convenience of foreign tourists. In response to the global trend of digital nomad visas, South Korea also introduced a separate visa for remote workers with an annual income of at least $66,000, allowing them to stay in South Korea for up to 2 years, aiming to address the changing preferences of foreign visitors and increase revenue for the country's tourism sector.
