A 28-year-old police officer surnamed Lin from the Sanxia Police Station in New Taipei City was tragically found dead after falling 5 meters down a hill, suspected of slipping while hiking. Just last month, Lin bravely shouted to alert his colleagues and successfully helped subdue a drunk man wielding a knife who barged into the station. Although Lin was found lifeless upon discovery, his dedication to his duty was evident. The incident where he showed quick thinking to protect his fellow officers just prior to his death deeply saddened his coworkers and officials. The knife-wielding man was later prosecuted under the Social Order Maintenance Act. Lin's colleagues and superiors are providing full support to his family during this difficult time.
