Reported about 1 year ago
Brazil's former president, Jair Bolsonaro, has been accused of secretly taking Saudi Arabia's donated jewelry and watches in 2021 and not listing them as official diplomatic gifts received by the national institutions. The Brazilian police have officially charged Bolsonaro with embezzlement of foreign gifts he received while in office, amounting to approximately $3.2 million, including diamond necklaces, rings, earrings, and prestigious watches. This is the second time Bolsonaro has been charged after leaving office in 2022, following a previous charge of forging his COVID-19 vaccine records in March of this year.
