Brazil's economy created 131,811 formal jobs in May, falling short of the 200,000 forecast. The number was impacted by historic flooding in Rio Grande do Sul, leading to the worst May job creation since 2020. Despite this, all economic sectors showed job growth, with the service sector leading the way with 69,309 net formal hires. From January to May, a net 1,088,955 jobs were created, up from the previous year.
