Brazil's Patria Investments Launches Reforestation Fund

Reported 21 days ago

Patria Investments, a major player in Latin America's alternative assets market, has initiated its first reforestation fund, aiming to raise $100 million. The fund plans to purchase and restore degraded land by planting native and valuable timber species, while cultivating cacao and coffee for sustainable ecosystems. Its objective is to deliver a 12% annual return over 15 years, focusing on the Atlantic rainforest region. The initiative will be supported by Pachama Inc. for land assessment and carbon credit sales, with current investments from Patria’s partners and expectations of broader participation from development banks.
