Brazil's Petrobras has approved Chambriard as the new CEO.

Reported 5 months ago

Brazil's state-run oil firm Petrobras has appointed Magda Chambriard as its new CEO, following the dismissal of former CEO Jean Paul Prates. Chambriard, a seasoned industry veteran and former head of the oil and gas regulator ANP, has already assumed her new role. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva selected her to lead the company towards job creation and industrial development, aiming to revitalize domestic shipyards, refineries, and other key infrastructure. Chambriard faces the challenge of navigating governance rules and external controls, but Mines and Energy Minister Alexandre Silveira reassured that she will execute Petrobras' $102 billion investment plan for 2024-2028.
