On July 4, 2024, the Indonesian immigration authorities arrested 103 suspects of online crime on Bali Island, revealing 102 of them to be Taiwanese nationals. Among them, 11 wanted criminals (10 males, 1 female) were escorted back to Taiwan by the Criminal Investigation Bureau, while the remaining 92 will be deported back to Taiwan in batches by Indonesian immigration. The suspects were allegedly involved in fraudulent activities targeting Malaysian Chinese. The Bureau emphasized the importance of cooperation with international law enforcement agencies and cautioned citizens against engaging in illegal activities abroad.
