On July 2, 2024, around noon, 1290 households in Tainan suddenly experienced a power outage due to a fuse seat malfunction in a switch box, affecting areas like Daitong Road in the South District and parts of Daitong Road and Rongyu Street in the East District. Power was restored at 1:03 pm by Taiwan Power Company. With the high temperatures across Taiwan, people expressed frustration online, lamenting the heat during the outage. Local residents in Tainan were significantly inconvenienced by the sudden power loss amidst the scorching weather.
