At 20:35 on June 15, 2024, a 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck with a shallow depth of 6.5 km in Taulan, Kaohsiung City, 71.4 km northeast of the city government. The earthquake was felt at Intensity 2 in Kaohsiung City, Chiayi County, and Tainan City. Residents are advised to prepare earthquake emergency kits for safety measures.
