Indian Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, aged 47, along with 16 others, was recently arrested on suspicion of murdering a 33-year-old man. The police described the case as 'extremely cruel and brutal' after the victim's body was found in a sewer. Darshan faces charges of 'murder, kidnapping, destroying evidence, and criminal conspiracy,' despite denying all accusations. The incident stemmed from the victim allegedly sending inappropriate messages regarding Darshan's rumored mistress, actress Pavithra Gowda, on social media. The actor, known for his participation in about 60 films in the Kannada film industry, was taken into custody on June 11 at the film set. This serious case has sparked attention due to his substantial film investments but received a lukewarm response from the industry. Darshan has faced controversy before, notably in 2011 for domestic violence, which led to his wife's charges but was later resolved through mediation.
