A fatal car accident occurred on the evening of the 15th at the 155-km marker of Highway 11, where a male driver surnamed Liao in his 50s crashed into a roadside milestone, causing both him and the vehicle to fall about 3 meters down a slope. Despite immediate reporting and rescue efforts, the man lost his life on the scene. Further investigation by the Taitung police is required to determine the exact cause of the accident.
